Our Opportunity

We're seeking a highly skilled Lead Electrical Engineer to join our team at the Cloudbreak Mine. As a key member of our engineering team, you'll be responsible for leading the design, development, and testing of electrical systems, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of electrical engineers in the design, development, and testing of electrical systems
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations, safety standards, and quality requirements
  • Provide focused leadership on risk management and promoting a positive safety culture
  • Support projects and shutdown teams, including technical support, work scopes, and the development of preventative/predictive maintenance orders
  • Follow the Reliability Roadmap and asset management principles, focusing on Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) development/review, sparing (BOM) and task lists
  • Provide leadership and mentorship across the engineering team, supporting personal development and offering senior technical advice
  • Manage and monitor key KPI's for the department, including metrics related to Eureka, DEP, reliability, and decarbonisation efforts
Qualifications and Experience
  • Minimum 1 year experience as Senior Electrical or Senior PCS Engineer
  • Minimum 4 years experience Electrical and/or PCS Engineer
  • Bachelor's degree of Electrical Engineering essential
  • Extensive experience in design, commissioning, and maintenance of Electrical and Process Control systems, including LV & HV reticulation systems, VSDs, PLC, SCADA, or DCS systems
  • Experience in engineering, design, and selection of electrical equipment, with emphasis on critical electrical components, and hazardous area classification methods and protection techniques
  • Demonstrated experience in managing technical projects and team performance
  • Strong knowledge of asset management principles and reliability metrics
  • Understanding of relevant legislation, industry standards, and regulations
  • Demonstrated computer literacy in engineering software
