We are seeking an experienced professional to join our team as a Women's Wellbeing and Sexual Assault Support Specialist. This role combines responsibilities for coordinating community education and advocacy on women's health and sexual assault with providing face-to-face counselling and support.
Key Responsibilities:- Community Education and Training: Develop and deliver community education and training programs on women's health and sexual assault, including delivering training, facilitating therapeutic groups, and participating in a 24-hour sexual assault crisis roster.
- Counselling and Support: Provide individual and crisis counselling to women and survivors of sexual assault, as well as facilitate therapeutic groups and other supportive activities.
- Liaison and Collaboration: Liaise with other organisations to enhance service delivery and referral pathways, and participate in on-call responses and contribute to the daily service support and professional development.
- Advocacy and Support: Advocate and liaise with healthcare and social services to improve support and referral pathways for women and survivors of sexual assault.
- Tertiary qualification in Social Sciences/Social Work or relevant employment history.
- Minimum three years' experience in homelessness or related fields.
- Strong ability to develop and deliver community education and training.
- Demonstrated expertise in crisis counselling and therapeutic group facilitation.
- Knowledge of feminist analysis and experience working with diverse cultural backgrounds, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women.
- Current Blue Card and Queensland driving licence.
