Corporate Affairs Leader

As a key player in shaping the future, we are seeking an accomplished leader to spearhead our corporate affairs function.
This strategic role encompasses external communications, media relations, government relations, stakeholder engagement, and all external communications and marketing activities.
The successful candidate will lead our team with integrity, collaboration, and performance, ensuring that communications and engagements reflect our business values.
- Build brand credibility and awareness by representing us within the customer and industry community
- Maintain a deep understanding of the political landscape and its influence on Defence budget and procurement decisions
- Establish and maintain strong relationships across Defence, government, and key media stakeholders
- Represent the CEO at Government, Defence, and industry events and forums
- Collaborate with Group communication efforts to communicate relevant Australia Sector information to investors and ensure consistency of communications
- Develop a proactive approach to issues management
- In conjunction with Group Strategy colleagues, identify growth opportunities and options for expansion across the Sector
- Significant experience in government relations, communications, and/or marketing within Defence Industry or ASX listed companies in Australia, underpinned by relevant tertiary qualifications
- Demonstrated experience liaising with all levels of government, including established relationships with senior government stakeholders and a strong network of senior defence and government contacts
- Ability to identify and interpret complex policy and advisory issues in a clear and concise manner
- Experience in representing organisations at senior forums and developing reports, presentation packages, briefing notes, and agendas for diverse audiences
- Expert knowledge of government processes, decision-making, management, accountability systems, procedures, and operations
- Experience in executing business development, customer relationship management, and sales functions
- Ability to lead high-performing teams
- Understanding of campaign management in a corporate or political environment
- Strategic and commercial acumen
