About the Role

This position reports directly to the Electrical & Automation Supervisor as a hands-on role, based in our manufacturing facility at Wagners CFT. The role involves day-to-day undertaking of electrical work throughout the facility, in accordance with statutory requirements for Workplace Health and Safety, within project and operational timeframes.

The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems in industrial settings. This includes ensuring training and compliance in the use of Wagner's Safety Management System, understanding and adhering to risk management policies and practices, and identifying and tracking project risks and issues.

  • Key responsibilities include undertaking day-to-day electrical operations, ensuring scheduled industrial electrical installation, maintenance work, and emergency breakdowns are completed within required timeframes.
  • Accurate completion of all electrical work undertaken to reduce rework, faults, and breakdowns is also a priority.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering, with experience in the installation, maintenance, and repair of industrial electrical equipment. They will possess sound working knowledge with PLCs, variable speed drives, other automation equipment, and AS3000. A minimum 5 years' post-trade experience is preferred but not essential.

Responsibilities

  1. Ensure training and compliance in the use of Wagner's Safety Management System at all operations.
  2. Understand and adhere to Wagner's risk management policies and practices while ensuring project risks and issues are identified and tracked.
  3. Accountable for undertaking day-to-day electrical operations, ensuring scheduled industrial electrical installation, maintenance work, and emergency breakdowns are completed within required timeframes.
  4. Ensure accurate completion of all electrical work undertaken to reduce rework, faults, and breakdowns.
  5. Ensure all electrical work undertaken by external contractors is undertaken to meet Wagners and Statutory requirements.
  6. Monitor and work to reduce costs associated with electrical repair and maintenance to prolong the life operation of machinery and reduce downtime.
  7. Investigate plant or equipment deficiencies that lead to out-of-spec finished goods and assist with ensuring BRC and other standards are met.
  8. Work with PLCs, variable speed drives, and other automation technologies.
  9. Provide professional advice to Wagners' Managers regarding electrical planning and electrical operations required for the efficient operation of various plant and equipment.
  10. Ensure work is undertaken in a responsive and positive manner.
  11. Respond to unforeseen circumstances and emergency situations.
  12. Any other duties associated with the role.
