Job Title: Kennels Animal Attendant

Job Summary:

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled individual to care for animals in our shelter. This role involves providing excellent day-to-day care for puppies and dogs, contributing to the achievement of the best possible welfare outcome for every animal in our care.

  • Contribute to the daily management of the shelter in a professional and caring manner, including transporting animals as required.
  • Observe, document, and report health and behavior concerns of animals in our care, and support Veterinarians when necessary.
  • Provide exceptional service to customers in the adoption, surrender, and reclaiming of animals to enhance the reputation of the organization within the local community.
  • Ensure all necessary documentation relating to animal care is recorded accurately and in accordance with established procedures and timeframes.
  • Contribute to a positive and inclusive work environment by effectively communicating and working collaboratively with peers across departments, including volunteers.
Requirements:
  • Able to work rotating rosters including weekends and public holidays.
  • Previous experience in an animal care role is highly desirable.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and challenging environment and manage time effectively.
  • Demonstrated experience working collaboratively within a team.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Positive attitude and a willingness to share knowledge and help others.
