About the Role
The Finance and Rates department at Greater Shepparton City Council is seeking a highly skilled Financial Analyst to join our team. As a key member of our Financial Analysis Team, you will play a crucial role in providing financial insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct in-depth data analysis to identify trends, issues, and risks, and provide actionable recommendations to stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with business partners across the organization, providing value-added financial services and support.
- Review and improve finance and rates procedures and processes to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.
- Assist in financial modeling, including scenario analysis and stress testing of budgets, plans, and strategies.
- Contribute to the development, planning, and facilitation of the Council's annual budgets, long-term financial plans, and annual financial statements.
Requirements
- Proven experience in financial analysis and reporting.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to communicate complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
