Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and organized individual to fill the role of Financial Operations Specialist.

About the Role:
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and processing weekly payroll, ensuring accuracy in pay rates, deductions, and superannuation contributions.
  • They will also be required to complete and lodge Business Activity Statements (BAS) in compliance with tax regulations and deadlines.
  • Ongoing management of accounts payable and receivable, including invoicing, payments, and follow-up on overdue accounts is another key responsibility.
  • Conducting bank reconciliations to ensure financial records are accurate and up-to-date is essential.
  • Maintenance and updates of the general ledger, ensuring all transactions are recorded correctly, is a critical function of this role.
  • The selected candidate will assist in preparing monthly and yearly financial reports to provide insights into the company's financial performance.
  • Accurate tax reporting and assistance in preparation for annual tax returns are additional responsibilities.
  • Coordination with external accountants for tax planning, audits, and other financial matters is also required.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • A solid understanding of accounting principles and hands-on experience in an end-to-end bookkeeping role is necessary.
  • Proficiency in Xero (or similar) accounting software and MS Excel, with a keen eye for detail and strong time management skills, is also required.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities are essential, as is the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
