About this role
As a critical care nurse, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient-focused care to patients in the intensive care unit.
The ideal candidate will have current experience in critical care settings and be willing to complete the Critical Care Orientation program through Humber College. They should also have mechanical ventilation skills, pediatric critical care experience, and at least 2 years or 3000 hours of current Med/Surg experience.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver safe and effective nursing care to critically ill patients
- Assess and monitor patient health status
- Develop plans to meet patient needs in collaboration with the healthcare team
Requirements:
- Current RN licensure and Basic Rescuer certification recognized by the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario
- Critical Care Certification an asset
- Ability to participate in ongoing professional development
This is a temporary part-time position that requires flexibility and adaptability. The successful candidate will be committed to delivering exceptional patient care and working collaboratively with other healthcare professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide advanced life support care to critically ill patients
- Manage ventilators and other life-sustaining equipment
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care
Required Qualifications:
- Demonstrated expertise in critical care nursing practices and procedures
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
