Job Title: Tree Care Specialist

About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Tree Care Specialist to join our planting team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for planting new trees, ensuring proper establishment, and caring for them during their critical first two years. This role offers on-the-job training and the opportunity to gain an industry qualification.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Undertake tree planting and establishment maintenance works in accordance with current industry best practice and standards.
  • Assess the condition of Council's trees to identify structural defects or health issues.
  • Operate and maintain plant and equipment, including trucks, chippers, elevated work platforms, and general arboricultural equipment.
  • Complete administrative tasks associated with arboricultural duties.
  • Accurately collect and enter data into tree database.

About You:

To be successful in this role, you will have a Certificate III in Arboriculture or similar, or a genuine passion for trees and tree care with the commitment to undertake funded, off-site training to gain your qualification.

Requirements:

  • Working knowledge of arboriculture practices with practical experience in tree maintenance and tree removals.
  • Demonstrated ability to interact courteously and professionally with ratepayers, stakeholders, and community members.
  • Knowledge of Energy Safe Line Clearing Regulations and line clearing procedures.
  • Ability to assess the health and structure of trees.
  • A current employee Working with Children check.
