Job Description

We are seeking a visionary leader to join our team as Chief Community Development Officer. This exciting opportunity will see you shaping the future of our city through innovative urban and environmental planning.

About the Role

You will lead the City Strategy Division, providing strategic advice to Councillors and Executive Management. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and delivering strategic planning initiatives that support the growth and sustainability of our city.
  • Providing operational advice to Council and Executive Management.
  • Leading a high-performance, customer and team-focused culture that is aligned to the values of the organisation.
  • Championing and driving organisational change and reform aligned to our organisational purpose.

Your leadership skills and experience in transformational planning initiatives will enable you to deliver high-quality, on-time and on-budget outcomes for Council. You will inspire your team to achieve by fostering a shared sense of purpose, clarifying priorities and building a collaborative approach to achieving our goals.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • A proven track record of leading complex urban and environmental planning programs.
  • The ability to translate strategic direction into operational goals.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The capacity to work collaboratively as an active and dynamic member of the Senior Leadership Team.
  • Strong financial management and budgetary compliance skills.
