Job Overview

Maintenance Electricians play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operation of automated produce farming and processing equipment.

The successful applicant will be integral to the execution of Kalfresh automation projects, on-farm projects, processing, and packing equipment installation and continuous improvement.

They will be responsible for mentoring apprentices and assisting fitters in daily PMs and breakdowns.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform technical hands-on tasks in a fast-paced environment with a strong focus on best practice industrial automation and continuous improvement.
  • Monitor, operate, fault-find, and repair automated produce farming and processing equipment.
  • Install, set up, and test new food processing and packing equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and fix mechanical and electrical equipment issues.
  • Coach and mentor production team members to increase their knowledge of fault identification and troubleshooting.
  • Maximise uptime through effective execution of maintenance-related activities.
  • Facilitate continuous improvement activities through broad system knowledge and site-specific enhancements.
About You
  • Hold strong electrical aptitude and excellent fault-finding and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Possess electrical trade qualifications and dual trade qualifications are highly regarded.
  • Have a proactive, hands-on mindset and willingness to get the job done.
  • Be able to work effectively with subcontractors and OEMs to gain knowledge on machine operation and maintenance.
  • Have basic PLC understanding and VSD programming skills.
  • Prior experience maintaining automated packing equipment is preferred.
  • Demonstrate commitment to safe work practices and documenting processes simply.
  • Show strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with other trades and production teams.
Physical Fitness and Work Environment
  • Meet physical fitness requirements, including working in cold room facilities and out in the paddock in hot humid Queensland summer conditions.
  • Frequently walk, climb, squat, kneel, and stand for long periods of time.
  • Lift, pull, and push up to 25kgs unassisted.
