Job Title

A mental health professional is required to join our team to provide comprehensive care and support to patients with acute and chronic mental health needs.

  • Deliver safe, evidence-based nursing care for patients.
  • Work within a multidisciplinary team to provide patient-centred care.
  • Support patients and families in decision-making, advocacy, and discharge planning.
  • Supervise and mentor ENs and AINs where required.
  • Contribute to clinical quality, safety, and improvement initiatives.
  • Provide clear and confident communication, particularly when discussing risks and patient safety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide recovery-oriented and trauma-informed mental health triage.
  • Conduct screening assessments across the lifespan.
  • Assess and manage risk, allocating follow-up care in line with Victorian Mental Health Triage Response categories.
  • Direct referrals to the most appropriate team or external provider.
  • Support after-hours bed management for acute admissions.
  • Maintain accurate documentation in MasterCare and TRAK.

Requirements
  • Registered Psychiatric Nurse (RPN3) with proven experience in mental health triage, clinical decision-making, and crisis assessment.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills.
  • Must have own car and ability to travel.
