Journalism Cadet Opportunity

We are seeking a talented individual to join our team as a 12-month fixed-term journalism cadet.

Candidates from diverse backgrounds are encouraged to apply, with a focus on growing First Nations and cultural diversity in the newsroom.

The program provides practical experience in creating content for Guardian Australia's departments.

  • Receive formal journalism training in areas such as news writing, news gathering, and court reporting.
  • Gain practical experience in producing engaging content for Guardian Australia's editorial departments.
  • Rotate through Guardian Australia's editorial departments under the mentorship of senior editors.
  • Develop your skills in generating interesting, original content and covering stories in innovative ways.

To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate a strong interest in journalism, excellent writing skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
