Job Summary

Parkes Shire Council is seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Design Engineer to coordinate and prioritize design services and ensure the application of engineering and project management standards to support Council's works program.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the development of Council's annual and long-term infrastructure works programs and contribute to financial and asset management planning.
Evaluate capital projects using multi-criteria assessments, focusing on asset utilization.
Plan, scope, and prepare grant submissions for capital projects.
Prioritize and coordinate technical functions to ensure timely project delivery and reporting.
Collaborate with teams to prepare and prioritize annual works programs.
Manage project risks and ensure compliance with relevant legislation and standards.

Requirements

Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
Relevant experience in design and project engineering.
Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with experience in collaborating across departments and stakeholders.
Advanced written communication abilities, including experience in preparing comprehensive reports and other corporate documentation.
High level of IT literacy, with proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software.
Demonstrated proficiency in the use of design engineering software.
Current Class C Drivers Licence.
