Job Overview

We are seeking a seasoned Civil Field Engineer to lead our construction team in Brisbane. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil engineering, excellent project management skills and the ability to effectively communicate with engineers and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Coordinate with engineers to ensure constructability and design issues are addressed in the civil discipline.
  2. Establish a collaborative working relationship with the Project Engineer to agree on civil engineering deliverables and construction application configuration management.
  3. Oversee quantity take-off, control, tracking, reporting and forecasting for civil discipline projects.
  4. Determine civil criteria for the construction of temporary facilities as required.
  5. Direct the preparation of requisitions for field-procured materials, services and equipment such as concrete and formwork.
  6. Approve field requisitions delegated by the Project Field Engineer.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or other relevant technical discipline from an accredited university, plus a minimum of six years' relevant work experience, or twelve years' experience in the absence of a degree.
  • Working knowledge of construction surveying, excavation and backfill operations, and concrete installation.
  • Demonstrated commitment to Environment, Safety and Health (ES&H), including a Zero Accident safety program.
  • Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet and database applications.
  • Familiarity with current industry quality standards.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous supervisory experience within civil discipline.
  • Intermediate understanding of production management, including scheduling.
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
  • Intermediate knowledge of cost management, including estimating and forecast development.
