About the Role

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join our Executive Leadership Team at Nova Systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Financial Leadership: Develop and implement financial strategies, advise on financial planning, and provide insights for decision-making.
  • Financial Management: Oversee accounting, reporting, budgeting, and cash flow management. Ensure compliance with regulations.
  • ICT Strategy: Align ICT strategy with business goals and ensure optimal user experience.
  • Procurement and Facilities Management: Lead procurement, optimise supply chain, and manage facilities.
  • Leadership: Build and lead effective teams, foster an inclusive workplace, and drive change.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field.
  • Master's degree or professional certification (e.g., CPA, CFA) is preferred.
  • Proven experience in a senior financial leadership role, preferably as a CFO or similar.
  • Significant exposure to large complex organisations (engineering, professional services, consultancy).
  • Previous experience working with Defence industry is preferred.
  • Proven data-driven decision-making to continually add value to the business and its bottom-line.
  • Extensive experience in financial management, governance, risk, and compliance.
  • Strong understanding of procurement, supply chain, and facilities management.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive strategic initiatives and lead cross-functional teams.
  • Exceptional skill in communicating complex ideas effectively - both verbally and in writing.
  • Effective communication, facilitation, persuasion and influencing skills and ability to negotiate, establish effective relationships/partnerships and diffuse conflict.
  • Executive management capabilities to effectively assess the business environment coupled with a high degree of emotional intelligence to gain the trust and commitment necessary for transformative change.
  • Australian Citizenship with ability to hold and maintain an AGSVA security clearance.
