About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Groundwater Field Operations Specialist to perform groundwater monitoring activities, download and calibrate monitoring instrumentation, conduct surface water monitoring, and collect water quality samples. This role involves extensive fieldwork, including hiking, working from boats, 4WD driving, and remote area operations.

This position is based in Hamilton VIC and will involve working independently and as part of a team across various locations in South-western VIC. The successful candidate may be required to stay overnight away from home on occasion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Field water quality sample collection from mainly groundwater monitoring bores.
  • Report creation and tracking, with assistance in updating reports.
  • Undertaking environmental data collection activities for both surface and groundwaters using specialist software packages and scientific instruments.
  • Servicing, calibrating, and maintaining onsite monitoring equipment and associated sensors.
  • Undertaking maintenance and new works installations.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Proficiency in the use of hand tools, power tools, and pneumatic tools, or willingness to learn.
  • Trade experience with an affinity for working outdoors.
  • Qualifications in Environmental Science, Geology, Hydrogeology, Environmental Engineering, or hydrography can be beneficial but not essential.
  • Environmental monitoring experience in water, air, and soils sampling.
  • Electronics and mechanical aptitude.
  • Computer literacy (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Demonstrated ability to work safely and efficiently in challenging environments.
