The Role:

This role involves owning the end-to-end product design lifecycle from research and ideation to high-fidelity UI design across our native apps for The Nightly and The West.

  • Conduct user research using empathy to understand user needs and uncover untapped opportunities.
  • Synthesize large amounts of data to craft compelling insights that draw on multiple sources including customer research, desktop research, and data analytics.
  • Lead co-design workshops applying Design Thinking methodology to gain alignment around design problems and opportunities.
  • Design intuitive and visually appealing high-fidelity user interfaces for native mobile and web applications that meet Agile sprint timelines.
  • Champion accessibility, consistency, and design excellence across all platforms.

About You:

  • Demonstrated experience shipping products with focus on developing Design Systems.
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in relevant fields such as User Interface Design, User Experience (UX) Design, Product (UX/UI) Design, Industrial Design, or related disciplines.
  • Proficiency in design tools Figma, JIRA, Confluence, and other relevant software.
  • Experience in design thinking methodologies, human-centered design, or other relevant design frameworks.
