Salary: AU$110,000 - AU$150,000 per annum + super + relocation package

Job Description: As a Product Technologist, you will play a crucial role in managing the execution of product-related New Product Development (NPD) projects and improvement initiatives at the factory level. Your primary responsibilities include leading product trials, ensuring compliant products are developed and maintained, supporting shelf-life and laboratory tests, and applying continuous excellence methodologies to drive cost reductions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead product trials at factory level, focusing on line performance, cost efficiency, on-time delivery, and product quality.
  • Develop and maintain compliant products through innovation and renovation processes, meeting internal and external regulations.
  • Support shelf-life, storage handling, laboratory, and ingredient tests for validation of new and existing products and changes in specifications in collaboration with QA.
  • Apply continuous excellence methodologies to initiate or participate in focused problem-solving, identify, and implement cost reductions.
  • Organize and document factory trials, including process and validation of new products and changes in specifications.
  • Develop relationships with key material suppliers.
  • Implement product-related quality and compliance directives, driving quality improvements in product cosmetics and nutrition.
  • Ensure development of competencies and knowledge at the shop floor, sourcing and utilizing training materials internally or externally.
  • Ccoordinate and implement LEAN Design initiatives arising from product competitiveness analyses.
  • Participate in NCE and TPM pillars and activities as directed by your manager, attending daily operational reviews.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • 3+ years' experience in product development within food manufacturing or related industries.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading people (2+ years).
  • Experience with project management, early risk management, and stakeholder management.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and influencing skills.
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement and problem-solving tools.
  • Proven track record in delivering results by working with cross-functional teams.
  • Previous experience and familiarity working with SAP preferred.
