Job Title: Groundsperson

As a groundsperson, you will play a vital role in maintaining the course, training tracks, and grounds at one of our racecourses. Your expertise will ensure that our racetracks are always presented in the best possible condition.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain the upkeep and care of our racetracks.
  • Undertake general maintenance work including labouring, cleaning, tracks, gardens, and maintenance instructions.
  • Operate plant equipment such as tractors, mowers, front-end loaders, forklifts, power sweepers, power harrows, brush cutters, hedgers, push mowers, and general spray operations.
  • Conduct routine maintenance of turf, synthetic, artificial, and other surfaces.
Requirements:
  • Demonstrated experience in a similar role, preferably in turf management, is preferred but not required.
  • General operational and mechanical maintenance skills.
  • Appropriate licenses to operate specialist machinery such as manual vehicles, front-end loaders, and forklifts are preferred but not required.
  • Experience in operating plant and equipment including Bobcats, Graders, and Excavators would be desirable.
  • Sound knowledge and practical experience of handling and spraying chemicals.
  • A demonstrable ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Sound verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Enjoy working outdoors.
  • A can-do attitude.
