Physiotherapy Leadership Role

  • Deliver high-quality physiotherapy services within a elite sports program.
  • Develop and implement injury prevention and screening strategies that align with the organization's goals.
  • Design and oversee individualized rehabilitation programs to ensure consistency in best-practice treatment and progression.
  • Provide expert guidance and collaborative, evidence-informed return-to-play decisions, balancing performance readiness with long-term athlete well-being.
  • Work closely with the High Performance Manager to ensure alignment of systems, treatment philosophies, and proactive athlete management strategies, fostering an integrated and forward-thinking environment.
  • Lead and mentor physiotherapists across various programs, including AFL, AFLW, and Academy.
  • Ensure clinical governance across physiotherapy services, including documentation, compliance, and care standards.
  • Provide strategic oversight of trainers and massage therapists, focusing on day-to-day operations.
  • Collaborate with medical staff, strength and conditioning experts, and sports scientists to drive integrated athlete care.
  • Lead match day physio coverage, including pre-game preparation, in-game support, and post-match assessments as required.

Key Requirements:

  • Master's qualifications in Physiotherapy or relevant field.
  • Current registration with AHPRA.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in sports physiotherapy at the elite level.
  • Experience working in elite sports environments.
  • Strong clinical skills in musculoskeletal assessment, rehabilitation, and return-to-play planning.
  • Demonstrated leadership and mentoring capabilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
  • Flexibility to work varied schedules, including weekends and interstate travel.
  • A commitment to professional conduct, ethical practice, and ongoing learning and improvement.
