Community Development Specialist

Job Opportunity

This role involves strategic planning for the future needs of the community, delivering initiatives to enable thriving places and communities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a multi-disciplinary team focused on understanding social and community trends, infrastructure needs, and delivering responsive programs and policies that support vibrant public places and precincts.
  • Develop and implement strategies to create high-quality public spaces in partnership with stakeholders and the community, driving significant positive change across the city.
  • Deliver economic development outcomes for the local economy and business community.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Land Use Planning, Community Engagement, Community Development, Cultural Development, Leadership, Social Policy or similar relevant field.
  • Working with children check.
  • Demonstrated expertise in social planning, land use planning, community engagement and capacity building, economic development or cultural planning.
  • Excellent written, verbal communication and presentation skills, demonstrating the capacity to influence, collaborate and negotiate.
  • Commitment to living values of respect, integrity, teamwork, trust and optimism.
