Role Overview

This is a senior leadership position within a fast-growing organisation, responsible for the success of industrial-scale solar and battery energy storage systems (BESS) projects. The successful candidate will lead high-voltage package design, commissioning, and engineering strategy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop high-voltage design packages, ensuring alignment with project specifications and integration requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, project-specific requirements, and Australian Standards.
  • Collaborate with senior management to develop and execute engineering strategy, identifying new project opportunities and technological advancements.
  • Provide technical guidance on emerging technologies and engineering solutions.
  • Work closely with colleagues to understand needs and provide effective engineering solutions, while building and maintaining relationships with external partners, suppliers, and clients.
  • Manage consultant relationships and scopes to deliver design, reports, and reviews of engineering and commissioning work streams.

Requirements

  • Minimum 10 years of engineering experience.
  • Experience in managing a high-performing multidisciplinary team.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of industry-specific regulations and standards.
  • Experience in renewable energy solutions, including in PV design & engineering.
  • Familiarity with NEM grid connection requirements, including the National Electricity Rules and relevant AEMO/NSP requirements.
  • Expertise in generating electrical, civil, geospatial, and mechanical drafting and engineering, with specific experience in new HV grid connections.
  • Familiarity with Australian/New Zealand standards for electrical systems and competence in industry-standard power systems and renewable energy software.
  • Proficiency in electrical engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD, PSCAD, ETAP).
