Job Title: Healthcare Communication Specialist
About the Role:
Austin Health seeks a highly experienced NAATI Certified Interpreter and Translator to join our Language Services Department. This is a part-time role, working 30 hours per week.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality interpreting and translating services for Vietnamese-speaking patients and Austin Health staff.
- Maintain accurate statistics of interpreting work undertaken.
- Adhere to the standards of the Language Services Department as outlined in the Austin Interpreter Guidelines and Protocols.
- Promote ongoing education and learning for all Austin Health staff and patients regarding interpreting services.
- Work collaboratively with Austin Health staff to ensure a timely and effective service in keeping with Austin Health values.
Essential Requirements:
- Only NAATI Certified Interpreters will be considered. Certified provisional interpreters with medical experience may also be considered.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
- Experience in working in a health service.
- Excellent organisational skills.
- Able to work as part of a team.
