St Paul's Catholic College, Manly is seeking a passionate and skilled School Counsellor to join our team on a permanent part-time basis working 0.6 FTE. As a School Counsellor, you will play a vital role in supporting the wellbeing and academic success of our students.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide confidential and professional counselling services to students, including individual and group sessions.
  • Develop and implement evidence-based programs to promote student wellbeing and mental health.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other staff members to provide a comprehensive support system for students.
  • Conduct assessments and develop plans to support students with complex needs.
  • Stay up-to-date with current research and best practices in adolescent mental health and wellbeing.
  • Work closely with parents and carers to ensure a collaborative approach to supporting students.

Requirements

  • Registered Psychologist or Social Worker with experience in school-based settings.
  • Strong understanding of current research and best practices in adolescent mental health and wellbeing.
  • Experience in counselling adolescents using evidence-based interventions.
  • Knowledge of current child protection legislation and policies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
