About the ProgramThe Graduate Secondary Teacher Scholarship Program is designed to support graduate teachers in their transition to the profession, providing a comprehensive package of support and resources to ensure their success.
Key Benefits- Financial Incentive: A total of $4,500, paid in three installments of $500, $2,000, and $2,000.
- Employment Security: Permanency on appointment, providing stability and security for the graduate teacher.
- Early Offer of Employment: An early offer of employment from April 2024, allowing the graduate teacher to plan their career and make informed decisions.
- Individualized Mentoring: A dedicated mentor to support the graduate teacher in their professional development and career growth.
To be eligible for the Graduate Secondary Teacher Scholarship Program, applicants must:
- Be due to graduate and confer in 2024 and be able to obtain provisional QCT Registration prior to the commencement of the 2025 School Year.
- Meet the eligibility criteria for the scholarship, including relevant tertiary qualifications and the ability to obtain approved Queensland College of Teachers Registration.
The selection criteria for the Graduate Secondary Teacher Scholarship Program include:
- Evidence of successfully passing the Literacy and Numeracy Test for Initial Teacher Education.
- Demonstrate professional knowledge, practice, and engagement.
- Eligible to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment.
- A desire to serve the community of Central Queensland.
