Job Summary

As a Procurement Manager at Skretting, you will play a critical role in ensuring the timely and cost-effective procurement of goods and services. This position requires a strong analytical mindset, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze vendor proposals, negotiate contracts, and provide recommendations to management to ensure optimal procurement strategies.
  • Ensure sourcing requirements are accurately reflected in purchase orders and contracts, and implement effective inventory management practices.
  • Develop and implement inventory strategies to support production requirements, consistent with inventory guidelines.
  • Purchase items that require quality and compatibility assessments, and identify purchasing opportunities to drive business growth.
  • Review weekly output from internal customers, such as Material Requirements Planning, to inform procurement decisions.
  • Maintain accurate master planning data in business systems and participate in designing plans and systems to optimize material requirements.
  • Develop and maintain operational relationships with suppliers, administer supplier management programs, and make medium-term forecasts of cost price development.
  • Align purchase orders with manufacturing needs, advise Product Management and Supply Management on stagnation, and troubleshoot supply bottlenecks and inventory delays.
  • Conduct market scanning to gain insights into supplier markets, new market developments, and negotiate contracts to secure optimal pricing and terms.
  • Decide inventory strategies to ensure timely and adequate inventory flow, and recommend cost-saving proposals, including make-versus-buy analysis and alternative sourcing.
  • Stay up-to-date with market developments and understand their impact on product flow, pricing, and availability.
