Position Overview

CareSouth is expanding its service offerings with a new initiative aimed at providing therapeutic support for children and young people with disabilities. In partnership with the Department of Communities and Justice (DCJ), our Intensive Therapeutic Care (ITC) model is designed for those who cannot be accommodated in traditional foster care or require specialized, intensive support to ensure stability in their care arrangements.

As a Youth Support Specialist within the ITC framework, your responsibilities will include:

  • Guiding children and young people in achieving their personal objectives.
  • Assisting them in building resilience and managing complex emotions and triggers.
  • Facilitating connections to family and cultural roots.
  • Encouraging participation in educational and extracurricular activities to promote stability and competence in daily life.
  • Providing transportation and daily care as necessary.
  • Collaborating with our clinical and case management teams, ensuring that the needs of children and young people remain central to all practices.
