Dietary Assistant

This is a permanent part-time position (64 hours per fortnight) to support our Dietetic team. The schedule will rotate over a 7-day roster, so availability to work on any day of the week is required. Current shift times are 6:30am till 3pm and 9am till 5:30pm. You will work between the Rehabilitation and Palliative Care wards.

• Prepare, distribute, collect, and process patient menus
• Assist Dietitians with duties within scope of practice
• Supervise the plating of patient meals

We are looking for a candidate with:

• Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance (Nutrition and Dietetics); or Certificate III in Nutrition & Dietetic Assistance (or equivalent experience)
• Understanding of basic clinical nutrition practices, specialised nutrition products, and food safety/HACCP
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, organisational skills
• Ability to adhere to strict schedules
• Ability to work as a team member as well as independently
• Ability to cover a 7-day roster
• Basic computer literacy and ability to easily learn new software
