We are seeking a qualified lawyer to specialise in First Nations and native title claim work with opportunities for more diverse experience.
The successful applicant will be engaged in evidence preparation, prepare advice on discrete legal issues, and work with new clients to establish relationships.
Our team acts for a major registered Aboriginal Party and Native Title applicants and respondents in Victoria and undertakes work in other jurisdictions.
We offer a permanent full-time position with potential flexibility for a part-time role.
Duties and Responsibilities:- Contributing to expanding the practice;
- Preparing and conducting existing matters;
- Task management and collaboration with other team members;
- Conducting matters through their life-cycle;
- Developing and maintaining relationships with clients;
- Conducting litigation in appropriate matters;
- Collaborating with a team of lawyers and supervisors;
- Providing clear, practical and concise legal and commercial advice;
- Maintain and build new client relationships;
- Providing exceptional service to clients.
We are looking for a committed and enthusiastic individual with:
- Previous practising experience in native title and/or working for First Nations clients;
- Excitement to collaborate with colleagues;
- Outstanding communication & interpersonal skills;
- Exceptional negotiation skills and an ability to communicate effectively and compassionately;
- Ability to work autonomously as well as within a team environment.
With a competitive salary of around AU$100,000 - AU$120,000 per annum, we offer a supportive and dynamic work environment that fosters growth and development. Our team is passionate about making a difference and is committed to providing exceptional service to our clients.
