About the Role:

  • Permanent, Full-time position with Hume City Council.
  • Cultivate and deliver annual exhibitions and public programs that engage diverse audiences and align with Council goals.

The successful candidate will oversee the Hume Gallery exhibition program and day-to-day operations of galleries across the municipality.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Craft and execute exhibitions and public programs that drive audience engagement and support strategic objectives
  • Lead the annual Expression of Interest process for applications to exhibit
  • Establish strategic partnerships with stakeholders to develop and implement art and cultural activities
  • Represent Council within arts and cultural networks as required
  • Contribute to policy development, strategy, and plan implementation supporting Galleries and arts and culture activities

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Degree or Diploma in a relevant field, with demonstrated experience in the art sector
  • Highly developed skills in museum and curatorial practices and principles
  • Ability to work effectively with communities to build capacity, foster social connections, and promote expression through arts and cultural programming
  • Experience working with early-career and community artists to support professional development, mentorship, and artist-in-residence programs
