We are seeking a specialist to contribute to world-leading research and teaching in nuclear and maritime engineering.
About the Role- Teach and develop courses in areas such as submarine design, naval architecture, nuclear engineering, radiation detection and measurement, nuclear safety and materials, plasma/fusion science, thermal-fluids, propulsion systems and maritime engineering.
- Conduct high-quality research in collaboration with a vibrant academic team working on naval nuclear propulsion, systems engineering, hydroacoustics, experiments, modelling and simulation, hydrodynamics, and energy technologies.
- Engage with industry, government, and academic partners to drive innovation in nuclear and maritime sectors.
- PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, or equivalent, with expertise in nuclear and/or maritime engineering.
- Demonstrated research ability that supports the School's research strengths such as hydroacoustics, modelling and computation, numerical and experimental hydrodynamics, navel nuclear propulsion, systems engineering, energy technologies, fluid processes in maritime and nuclear or relevant industry applications.
- Record of research achievements as evidenced by publications in high-quality journals or conference proceedings.
- Demonstrated ability to teach effectively using evidence-based pedagogy that promotes student learning.
- Demonstrated ability to develop courses in nuclear and maritime engineering.
