Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Drill and Blast Engineer to join our team at the South Walker Creek mine. As a key member of our planning engineering team, you will provide technical support for drill and blast operations and contribute to the achievement of our mining goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement drill patterns, loading, and tie-in designs to optimize mining performance.
• Coordinate drill and blast activities to ensure blast inventory is maintained and mining rates are achieved in line with budget.
• Monitor and reconcile drilling and blasting performance, including data quality assurance and control, fragmentation analysis, and loss and dilution from blasting.
• Develop and implement continuous improvement projects and trials to enhance drill and blast operations.
• Assist with daily production planning and provide accurate technical analysis to support decision-making.
• Contribute to activities that ensure continued compliance with environmental management and safety protocols.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in mining engineering or a related field.
• Demonstrated experience in a similar role within a mining engineering team.
• Experience with relevant software, including Vulcan and BlastLogic.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
