Job Overview

The role of a Financial Accountant plays a crucial part in supporting the integrity of financial information reported to stakeholders.

About the Role

  • Assist in ensuring accurate payroll and revenue data is recorded correctly.
  • Ensure all relevant accruals and prepayments are captured timely.
  • Complete balance sheet reconciliations efficiently.
  • Support the completion of assigned financial reporting tasks and submissions within stipulated deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Payroll Accounting: Oversee payroll accounting processes including annual organisation-wide budget assumptions, month end processing and forecasting.
  • Revenue Accounting: Oversee revenue accounting processes including analysis of funding guidelines, regular reconciliations, month end processing and forecasting.
  • Reporting: Provide accurate and timely financial information for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Stakeholder Management: Develop strong partnerships with key stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor Degree or higher in Accounting/Commerce.
  • Membership of the Institute of Chartered Accountants Australia (ICAA) and/or Certified Practising Accountants Australia (CPA).
  • Minimum 3-5 years of financial accounting or professional services accounting experience.

Desirable Requirements

  • Understanding of public health sector operations.
  • Advanced skills in Excel.
