Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate individual to support our laboratory team as a Medical Laboratory Assistant.

This role plays an integral part in providing high-quality specimen collection services that directly impact patient diagnosis and care.

You will be the reassuring presence patients rely on, ensuring accurate and timely collection in various settings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to a customer-focused pathology collection service across inpatient, outpatient and home care environments.
  • Deliver exceptional healthcare services to all referrers and consumers.
  • Perform venepuncture and other duties related to specimen collection, data entry, processing and delivery for pathology investigations as required.
Requirements and Skills
  • Certificate III in Pathology Collections or equivalent experience in venepuncture.
  • Demonstrated customer service experience and skills, including effective communication with patients, carers and clinical staff.
  • Familiarity with pathology terminology and willingness to learn a broad scope of collection, data entry and specimen preparation practices.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to any site as required.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and tight deadlines within a demanding professional environment.
