We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Unit Head to lead our ICU team. As a key member of our leadership team, you will provide clinical and medical leadership for the ICU and work closely with the Nurse Unit Manager and other Clinical Unit Heads to implement our strategic vision and meet clinical service delivery requirements.
About the ICUOur ICU is a 16-bed combined facility caring for over 1000 intensive care, high dependency, and coronary care patients each year. It is a Level 3 facility, well-designed and spacious, offering all aspects of modern Intensive Care, including invasive and non-invasive ventilation, renal replacement therapy, plasmapheresis, intra-aortic balloon pump, and echocardiography.
Requirements- Medical Specialist Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
- Fellow of the College of Intensive Care Medicine of Australia and New Zealand
- Demonstrated ability to lead a comprehensive multidisciplinary ICU team
- Significant experience working at a senior level in a major ICU
- Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain effective service interactions required in the operation of a busy ICU service
- Comprehensive understanding of professional, legal, and ethical principles in the domain of end of life decisions as they relate to Intensive Care services
- Demonstrated understanding of the issues relevant to the conduct of research in the setting of an Intensive Care Unit within the public sector
- Desirable: Post-graduate qualifications in areas such as health service management, re-design, or clinical governance
