About the Role

We're seeking a highly skilled Creative Technologist to join our team at Canva. As a key member of our Creative Technology team, you'll be responsible for designing and developing innovative, user-centered experiences that showcase the power of AI.

Key Responsibilities
  • Apply design thinking and technical expertise to create interactive prototypes that bring AI-powered experiences to life.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Product Designers, Researchers, and Engineers, to drive solutions that synthesize product, design, and technical requirements.
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of Canva's technical stack and existing AI Research projects.
  • Contribute to the growth and development of the Creative Technology subspecialty, fostering a culture of innovation and experimentation.
  • Mentor junior team members and help shape the future of AI-powered experiences at Canva.
Requirements
  • 6+ years of experience with front-end technologies, including HTML, CSS, JS, and React.
  • Strong portfolio of interaction design work built with front-end technologies.
  • Experience collaborating with designers, engineers, researchers, and non-technical stakeholders to drive solutions that synthesize product, design, and technical requirements.
  • Aptitude and desire to pick up new technologies, play around with them, and find unique ways to use them.
