The North East Link Project is a significant infrastructure project in Melbourne, Victoria, aiming to close the missing link in the city's freeway network. As a key partner, CPB Contractors Pty Limited is seeking a skilled Site Engineer to join our team.

About the Opportunity

This role offers a unique chance to be part of an iconic construction project, working on the Central Package of the North East Link Project. As a Site Engineer, you will be responsible for coordinating and administering construction engineering activities, ensuring projects are implemented in accordance with plans, designs, and specifications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and administer construction engineering activities to ensure projects are implemented in accordance with plans, designs, and specifications.
  • Review and understand FRP, precast, concrete, drainage, and road formations.
  • Knowledge of tunnel underground construction practices.
  • Assist with the preparation of site construction budgets and reports.
  • Monitor construction progress for adherence to program and report to the Project Engineer.
  • Interpret designs for implementation in construction projects.
  • Contribute to improvements to existing designs.
  • Arrange and oversee the letting of tenders.
  • Demonstrate financial management skills and commercial acumen when making decisions.
  • Assign work and assist with reviews for accuracy and adherence to required standards.
  • Execute working knowledge of contractual and legislation relevant to the Project.
  • Undertake quantitative and qualitative safety, environment, and quality risk assessment to ensure acceptable quality of structures and finishes.
  • Analyse and use document and record management, progress, and project performance reporting compliance reporting.
  • Demonstrate stakeholder management skills by managing work and performance of subcontractors to achieve outcomes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering, Science, Building Construction, Construction Management, or equivalent.
  • Engineering experience.
  • Wide level of planning, development, and review of projects.
  • Quantitative and qualitative risk assessment and monitoring of risk controls and actions involved in delivery and implementation of projects.
  • Advanced skills in relevant computer software packages; Microsoft Suite, etc.
  • Written, verbal, and presentation skills; e.g., facilitating meetings, pre-starts, and tool box meetings, and basic cost control skills.
