About the Role

We are seeking a seasoned Environmental Consultant to lead our Heritage team in Newcastle, delivering high-quality projects and providing expert guidance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee project teams, planning and delivery of fieldwork, budget management, and timeline coordination.
  • Engage with clients to understand project requirements, provide heritage and archaeological advice, and develop tailored solutions.
  • Effective stakeholder engagement with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Present technical findings and communicate information to non-technical clients and community members.
  • Stay up-to-date with heritage and archaeological legislation, regulations, and guidelines, applying this knowledge to assess significance, develop conservation strategies, and mitigate impacts on heritage and archaeological values.
  • Mentor junior staff, helping them develop skills and expertise in heritage and archaeological management and consultancy.

Requirements:
  • A degree in Cultural Heritage Management, Archaeology, Anthropology, or related field.
  • A minimum of 10+ years of experience for the Principal role and 5+ years for the Senior role.
  • Preferably experience in a consultancy environment.
  • Knowledge of relevant State and Commonwealth heritage legislation and associated regulations and guidelines, with experience in NSW highly regarded.
  • Demonstrate leadership experience, including project management and team coordination.
  • Interest and experience with client relationship management.
  • An Australian Driver's license (ideally with 4WD experience).
