Bovine Reproductive Specialist Role

This position is crucial for our global team's success, enabling us to deliver certainty in genetic progress for livestock. The Bovine Reproductive Specialist will perform ovum pickup procedures, embryo transfers, and collaborate with team members on data entry and communication while adhering to standard operating procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Complete specialized training programs designed for in-field veterinary work; travel to training sites as needed
  • Work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Adhere to standard operating procedures (SOPs), processing directives, production standards, policies, and health and safety regulations
  • Maintain flexibility for working hours due to time-dependent IVF processes
  • Follow established Ovum Pickup (OPU) processes, including equipment setup/calibration, animal preparation, maintaining a sanitary work field, oocyte aspiration, documentation, and associated tasks
  • Assist clients and teammates with recipient synchrony questions
  • Perform embryo transfer procedures following standard operating procedures
  • Maintain embryo production data records
  • Oversee the certification and compliance of the embryo laboratory for export purposes
  • Attend and participate in team meetings
Requirements:
  • Industry knowledge and a strong passion for IVF or eagerness to learn and commit
  • Previous laboratory experience in an academic and/or professional setting
  • Knowledge of oocyte, sperm, and embryo biology
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to travel up to 80% of the work week
  • Capacity to work long days (up to 14 hours) seasonally
  • Ability to lift 50lbs
  • Capacity to remain on feet for extended periods
  • Healthy back, shoulder, arm, hand function, and ability to manipulate bovine reproductive tracts
  • Valid driver's license and ability to operate vehicles
