About the Role

We are seeking a seasoned Practice Leader to join our national public liability team, driving growth in our Queensland practice from our Brisbane office. This role requires a highly technical lawyer with experience in public liability law, who aspires to lead a practice of multiple lawyers, law clerks, and support staff.

This rare opportunity is suitable for a proactive, passionate, and results-driven lawyer who thrives in a collaborative environment. You will work closely with our experienced and respected practice groups across various types of legal work.

Our public liability practice handles a wide range of cases, including injuries caused by slips and trips, unsafe premises, dog attacks, physical assaults, defective products, sporting accidents, and health and fitness injuries. Due to Slater and Gordon's reputation and brand awareness, our assistance is frequently sought after in investigating catastrophic accidents.

In addition to managing high-value and challenging cases, this role involves strengthening existing community relationships and building new networks.

The responsibilities include:

  • Managing the Queensland public liability practice at Slater and Gordon, ensuring timely case progression and optimal outcomes for clients.
  • Continually exploring new business opportunities and developing strategies for growth.
  • Mentoring and managing junior lawyers and staff within the public liability team and Brisbane office.
  • Maintaining strong client relationships and demonstrating excellent client care behaviors.
