Waste Management Assistant

We are seeking an experienced Waste Management Assistant to join our team at a leading resource recovery centre. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring that recyclable goods are processed efficiently and effectively.

The key responsibilities of the position include:

  1. Maintaining a high level of tidiness and presentation of premises
  2. Inspecting loads entering the facility to direct drivers to the appropriate recycling areas
  3. Assisting drivers and customers with unloading contents and providing guidance on proper disposal methods
  4. Providing instructions for material separation to ensure safety requirements are met
  5. Performing physical work, including repetitive bending and moving of furniture

To be successful in this role, you must demonstrate:

  1. Flexibility to cover shifts, including weekend work
  2. Ability to work with minimal supervision while maintaining respect for others
  3. Attention to detail, excellent time management, and superb customer service skills
  4. A passion for waste reduction, reuse, and recycling
