Director of National Support Preparedness and Strategic Operations

The Director of National Support Preparedness and Strategic Operations will play a pivotal role in the Joint Capabilities Group's new National Support Division.
With a focus on strategic planning, coordination, and preparedness, this position offers an exciting opportunity for high-performing directors to contribute to Defence's resilience and improve national preparedness.
We are seeking experienced leaders who can think strategically, lead teams, and provide advice to senior leadership to achieve high-level outcomes in planning, preparedness, and coordination functions.
About our Team:
- We are a dynamic team working together to enable Defence to plan, organize, and draw upon whole-of-government and whole-of-nation capabilities.
- Led by the Head of National Support, our team collaborates with Joint Logistics Command, Joint Capabilities Group, and other Defence groups to contribute to NSD and Defence-wide outcomes.
- We work in an integrated workforce comprising APS and ADF staff, promoting a positive and inclusive workplace culture that aligns with Defence values.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to contribute expertise at the foundational level for the NSD, engaging with peers across Defence and as required, whole-of-government, and industry.

- In-depth knowledge of legislative frameworks, government decision-making, and policy requirements.
- Qualifications in Business Administration, Strategic and International Policy, Public Administration, or related disciplines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement strategic plans to enhance Defence's resilience and national preparedness.
- Lead teams and provide guidance, direction, and support to ensure effective collaboration and achievement of group and Defence-wide outcomes.
- Foster and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including JCG Divisions, Commands, and whole-of-government agencies.
- Monitor and address organizational risks proactively, ensuring a positive and inclusive workplace culture.
- Implement improvement plans to optimize business operations and drive performance.
