Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Diesel Fitter to join our team at one of our NSW sites. As a Diesel Fitter, you will be responsible for performing routine maintenance, repairs, and servicing of large-scale mobile mining equipment, including CAT trucks and dozers, graders, and other ancillary equipment.

Your duties will include:

  1. Performing regular maintenance tasks, such as lubrication, inspections, and component replacements;
  2. Repairing and replacing faulty components, such as engines, transmissions, and hydraulic systems;
  3. Completing general maintenance tasks, such as cleaning, painting, and storing equipment;
  4. Conducting thorough inspections to identify potential issues and prevent downtime.

Key Responsibilities

You will be responsible for:

  • Ensuring all work is carried out safely and efficiently;
  • Maintaining accurate records of work completed and materials used;
  • Cooperating with other tradespeople and site personnel to achieve project objectives;
  • Participating in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance processes and procedures.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Proven experience as a Diesel Fitter or equivalent trade;
  • Post-trade experience working in the mining or heavy earthmoving industry;
  • A Certificate of Proficiency issued by Training NSW;
  • Demonstrated skills and knowledge in diesel engine repair and maintenance;
  • Experience working with Liebherr and CAT large earthmoving equipment is preferred.
