About the Role

The Finance Business Partnering Manager is a strategic leadership role responsible for driving financial performance and providing expert financial advice across the organization. This position serves as a key link between the finance department and business units, offering insights to support strategic decision-making, budgeting, forecasting, and playing a critical role in aligning financial goals with the company's objectives, ensuring a deep understanding of the business and its drivers.

A Day in the Life of

Key Accountabilities:

  • Lead a team of Finance Business Partners to deliver comprehensive financial support to all business units.
  • Partner closely with senior leaders and executives to provide strategic financial insights, enabling sound decision-making.
  • Develop and implement financial strategies that align with business objectives, ensuring growth, profitability, and sustainability.
  • Support the General Manager Finance and Financial Planning and Analysis Manager in managing overall financial health of the AFL business units, identifying risks, and leveraging opportunities.

Forecasting and Budgeting:

  • Lead the annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting across the AFL business units, ensuring accuracy and alignment with strategic goals.
  • Analyze financial performance, identify trends, and provide recommendations for improving profitability and operational efficiency.
  • Work closely with the Financial Planning and Analysis Manager to provide relevant commentary and analysis of risks and opportunities through the budget and forecasting process.
  • Lead the preparation of monthly business unit financial reports, including variance analysis, and present insights to stakeholders.

Business Partnership & Advisory:

  • Act as a trusted advisor to business unit leaders, providing financial analysis, guidance, and support to drive business performance.
  • Translate complex financial data into actionable insights, helping business units understand their financial performance and key drivers.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment of financial goals with business needs.

Process Improvement & Financial Controls:

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across financial processes, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and compliance, working closely with the finance systems team, financial control team, and procurement to ensure seamless finance business processes.
  • Implement and maintain robust financial controls and procedures to safeguard company assets and ensure adherence to regulatory requirements.
  • Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and insights.

Team Development & Mentorship:

  • Foster a culture of high performance and continuous learning within the Finance Business Partner team.
  • Mentor and develop team members, ensuring they have the skills and knowledge needed to support business goals.
  • Promote collaboration and knowledge-sharing across the finance team and the broader organization.

Salary and Benefits:

The salary for this position is estimated to be around $120,000 - $180,000 per annum, depending on experience.
