Salary

The estimated annual salary for this Senior Associate position is around $180,000.

Job Description

We are currently looking for a Senior Associate with 5+ years experience in the Corporate team in Sydney. As part of our Mergers and Acquisitions department, you will work closely with experienced Partners who specialise in various areas including:

  • M&A transactions;
  • Equity & debt capital markets;
  • Corporate advisory;
  • Joint ventures;
  • Commercial arrangements;
  • Corporate governance;
  • Restructures; and
  • General commercial and corporate contracts.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  1. A strong background in Corporate Advisory / Mergers & Acquisitions with a mid-market focus preferably, gained through experience in mid to top-tier firms;
  2. The ability and desire to proactively manage M&A transactions with a high level of autonomy;
  3. Excellent collaboration skills, including delegating to and assisting junior lawyers and engaging with other specialist practice areas within the firm;
  4. Experience with legal due diligence, drafting due diligence reports, reviewing and drafting contracts, and possessing great relationship-building and communication skills;
  5. Possessing a willingness to have a hands-on approach as a client-focused practitioner, with a thorough understanding of clients' commercial needs and objectives;
  6. The ability to provide sound, pragmatic and innovative legal advice to the firm's corporate clients;
  7. Good contract drafting skills, legal analysis and problem-solving skills to varied situations;
  8. Excellent attention to detail, analytical skills backed up by strong academics; and
  9. A thirst to develop as a lawyer.
