Communications Specialist

Kambu Health is a community-controlled, not-for-profit organisation providing health and wellbeing services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

Job Overview
  • The Communications Specialist plays a key role in shaping and sharing the organisation's voice, both internally and externally.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Developing and implementing communication strategies, creating engaging content across multiple channels, and building strong relationships with media and stakeholders.
  • Writing, editing, and distributing a range of content, including blog posts, social media updates, press releases, newsletters, and speeches.
  • Managing website content, social media platforms, and digital media archives to ensure accuracy and engagement.
  • Ensuring all communications align with the organisation's brand guidelines, maintaining a consistent tone, voice, and visual identity.
  • Creating and distributing internal communications to keep staff informed, connected, and engaged.
  • Coordinating internal and external events that reflect the organisation's values, purpose, and mission.
Requirements
  • Demonstrated ability to write and edit clear, compelling content across a variety of formats and channels.
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to develop and implement effective communication plans.
  • Strong analytical skills to evaluate communications activities and provide insights and recommendations.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to build strong relationships with media, stakeholders, and team members.
  • Well-developed time management and organisational skills to handle multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Creative thinking to design engaging and innovative communication campaigns.
