We provide effective prevention, preparation, response, and recovery activities across various emergency situations.

Our team comprises the Fire and Rescue Service, the Rural Fire Service, and the State Emergency Service, working together to support other volunteer groups providing emergency response to Queenslanders.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Auxiliary Firefighter to join our team in Nanango. The successful candidate will be responsible for responding to fire and other emergency incidents, promoting community safety, and participating in regular drills and training courses.

Key Responsibilities

  • Respond to fire and emergency incidents as part of a team, ensuring the safety of people and property.
  • Promote community safety through education and outreach programs, contributing to the development of competencies and skills acquisition.
  • Maintain required attendance standards for emergency incidents and training sessions.
  • Operate specialist firefighting equipment safely and effectively, adhering to organisational policies and procedures.
  • Contribute to the upkeep and hygiene of station facilities, ensuring maintenance and repair of operational equipment and facilities.

Requirements

  • Australian Permanent Resident Status
  • Manual C Class driver's licence
  • Live or work within a reasonable distance of the auxiliary fire station
  • Employer's written consent to attend incidents and emergencies (where applicable)

Estimated Salary Range: $50,000 - $65,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.
