Science Educator

This role is ideal for a passionate educator who enjoys making science meaningful and engaging for students in Years 7 to 9. In this capacity, you will have the opportunity to develop and implement a comprehensive science curriculum aligned with educational standards and guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement a science curriculum that covers various disciplines such as biology, chemistry, physics, earth science, and environmental science under the Victorian Curriculum.
  • Design and deliver engaging lesson plans that cater to diverse learning styles and abilities, incorporating hands-on experiments, demonstrations, and inquiry-based activities.
  • Manage laboratory facilities and equipment, ensuring a safe and organized environment for conducting experiments and investigations. Teach students proper laboratory techniques, safety protocols, and ethical practices in scientific research.
  • Assess student understanding and mastery of scientific concepts and skills through regular assessments and evaluations.

Requirements:

  • A passion for teaching science and making it accessible to students.
  • Unrestricted working rights in Australia.
  • Registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) or willingness to obtain.
  • Previous experience in teaching Secondary Science in Australia/NZ/Placement experience essential.
  • Ability to provide contact details for two education-based references from within the last 5 years.
