Horticulture Trainee Opportunity

We are seeking a passionate individual who loves being outdoors and is looking for a hands-on career in gardening.

This 3-year traineeship will provide you with hands-on industry experience, training and equipment supplied, while studying towards a nationally recognized Certificate III in Horticulture.

You will have the opportunity to work on diverse projects including maintaining council community parks and streetscapes, interacting with local residents, and participating in town horticultural projects.

This role is perfect for those who enjoy working outdoors and with garden tools, and are committed to lifelong learning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Garden and grounds maintenance
  • Mulch, prune, pot, and water plants
  • Use of garden tools and machinery
  • Brush cutting and mowing
  • Pest and weed control
  • Install irrigation pipes and watering systems

Requirements:

  • Provisional or full driver's licence with own vehicle
  • Physically fit and healthy due to manual labour work
  • Satisfactorily pass a pre-employment assessment including a drug and alcohol test
  • Previous experience in gardening, horticulture, or similar trade (desirable)
